DVVC DIRECT VOICE COIL COOLING
Traditional pole venting is an inefficient way to cool a subwoofer. Our DVVC technology rapidly cools the subwoofer by positioning the venting directly below the coil. The heat trapped inside the subwoofer is instantly exhausted through the vent holes with every movement of the cone. This proven technology reduces cooling time and allows your woofer to play louder, longer and handle more power.

We’ve developed a full line of Power Reference enclosures specifically designed to maximize the performance of our Power Reference subs. These enclosures are available in a range of sizes and configurations and feature high quality MDF with dado groove construction. Each box is wrapped in 2-tone embroidered carpet for an ultra-clean looking, high performance loaded enclosure.

Memphis Audio’s patented FLEX Technology (selectable impedance) features a proprietary dual impedance voice coil that allows the user to select between different impedances by moving the included color coded jumper cables directly on the subwoofer.
Power Reference subwoofers utilize two terminals on the woofer, one one allows for a signal connection, while the other configures the ohm load of the sub to either 2Ω or 4Ω with zero performance loss.
With Memphis FLEX Technology you can ‘future proof’ your subwoofer set up. If you ever want to upgrade your system from a single subwoofer to dual subs, no problem! Simply reconfigure your original subwoofer and add a second sub with no issues. This technology is available on PR 6.5″, 8″, 10″, 12″ & 15″ subwoofers.

Standard compression horn tower speakers have a horn in the center of the woofer resulting in a less efficient performance. The decrease in efficiency is due to the gasket used to seal the gap between the woofer and the horn. This gasket adds weight to the center of the cone negatively impacting the cones performance. The gap in the center of the woofer also reduces effective surface area which means the woofer moves less air, less air means less output. By using the bridged tweeter array, Memphis has freed up significant surface area on the cone and reduced a great deal of weight from the center resulting in a significant boost in SPL.
