Sunday, August 28, 2011 -- Grapevine, Texas – Memphis Car Audio dealer Perfectionist Auto Sound & Security of Anchorage, Alaska was one of four independent dealers to be named Retailer of the Year at the 2010-11 Mobile Electronics Industry Awards held at the MERA KnowledgeFest at the Gaylord Texan Hotel and Convention Center.
John Schwartz, owner of Perfectionist Auto Sound & Security, credits customer service and manufacturer support for his success: “My sales are up a good 25% over a year ago. We have always focused on the customer and the service we provide for them… Memphis has played a significant role in our success. They keep off the internet, providing us less competition with the brands we carry, allowing for more in house sales, and better margins.”
Schwartz adds, “Brands like Memphis Car Audio follow the same business principles we do: take care of the customer first, follow up with superior service and great support, and always be the best” “We are pleased that our friends at Perfectionist Auto Sound & Security have been recognized by the industry for overall excellence,” states Memphis Car Audio president Arthur Fulmer III. Fulmer continues, “Our own success is directly tied to the success of independent dealers (we absolutely prohibit web, mailorder and big box sales), and we’re always happy to see those dealers recognized for the value they bring to car audio enthusiasts.”
Other recognized retailers include Columbus (Ohio) Car Audio, Al & Ed’s Autosound of Van Nuys, California, and Extreme Performance of West Palm Beach, Florida. Retailer of the Year honors are part of a larger Industry Awards program.
"The Industry Awards is a long, grueling process," said Solomon Daniels, editor-in-chief of Mobile Electronics magazine. "It takes a lot of time and planning from everyone involved, but speaking to retailers and installers in the process and hearing how it's affected their store keeps you going, and seeing how much the awards mean to the winners makes it all worth it."
The selection process for Retailer of the year starts with representatives, who nominate the top fifty retailers overall. Then industry experts and consumers vote to narrow the list to twelve finalists. Finally, Mobile Electronics editors select winners based on submissions from the top twelve contenders.
